Who knows what lies around the bend?

Unfortunately I was sick with the crud last weekend and I had to cancel my solo gig at Cregeens.  This makes only the second time in a 25 year career that I’ve not done a show I was scheduled for.  The first time, over 10 years ago, I was in the E.R.  I find that it’s an easier decision to make when you’re performing alone.  You don’t have to worry about what your last minute situation is doing to the people who are planning to perform with you.  Also, it’s easier for the venue to replace a solo act with another solo act.  Still, not a great thing.  I’m on the mend.  Also, I found out the day gig is sending me to New York this weekend.  I had to bow out of a guest appearance I had planned to make with my friend, Jimmy Lynn’s band.  Exciting stuff.
