More great doin’s at The Hale Estate!
A week ago at this time I was in the studio with one of my favorite rhythm section combos: Larry Mann and Darrell Johnson. Those two can lay down a groove deeper than The Grand Canyon and they did not disappoint. We put down two great beds for my songs “Just Wait for the Night” and “Child of the Dark”. As soon as Jay, the engineer, gets some work mixes to me I’ll start fleshing them out. One things for sure, my debut CD will be diverse. I’ve got country, pop, and upbeat-soul. I don’t know how to label this crap. I’m just excited about doing it.
Tonight I head to the legendary White Water Tavern to take part in a special benefit for our local community radio station: KABF, the Voice of the People. Several local artists will be performing songs from The Bands 1978 film, The Last Waltz. I’m playing with a hastily assembled group called Reade Mitchell and The Extraordinaires. We’ll play Rag, Mama Rag and Dry Your Eyes. I can’t wait to see so many of my friends and contemporaries. Roll on, People!
