Drinkin’ tea, kickin’ ass!

Dauphne and I had a great time in Clarksdale, MS again on Saturday.  We love the Juke Joint Festival and we look forward to attending every year.  Two years ago and I actually performed on a charter bus between here and Clarksdale and that was a ton of fun!  God, my back hurts.  Anyway, last night Brian Nahlen and I performed to a packed patio at Tina’s Just One More Bar and Grill.  It’s a small, unpretentious place but the people are great and the beer is cold.  They appreciate good music and the people who make it which is a lot more than I can say about some of the places I find myself in.  Still working on my cd.  Last week’s recording session had to be cut short due to technical difficulties but that’s all resolved and I’m rarin’ to get back to it.  I’ve set a date for finishing this labor of love, June 1st!  I shan’t be swayed.  I’ve got a lot of things I want to do still and several more guest artists I’d like to bring in but if they can’t make themselves available on my timeline, they’ll just have to wait for my sophomore release!  This Friday I’m doing a solo show at Blue Canoe Brewing Co. on 3rd Street.  They’re some of my favorite people and they make AWESOME beer!  Saturday I’m back out at Ya Ya’s Euro Bistro with the Stuart Baer Band.  Have fun, Hale out!
